One of the first steps in our protocol is a detox bath. This detox bath has soothed our children during many ailments as it works with the body without interrupting its natural healing process. I’ve found it to be the best thing to do when a child starts to show symptoms of a cold and that is why it’s #1 on my list. Using essential oils is optional in this bath. It’s not required! However, I highly recommend them! ! I do this bath up to 3 times a day if needed. The bath consists of epsom salt, peroxide and baking soda in warm water. Watch this video to learn more about the benefits of the detox bath and how I do use this to help with common cold symptoms. I consider it the best way to head off a cold at the pass.

The next step in the protocol is to give the the baby a drop of liquid vitamin D3 each day.
-
One drop of wellness tincture 3x’s day.

Of course, nursing as much as possible is on my must-do list. The benefits of breast milk are too numerous to list, but one of the primary reasons I nurse as much as possible when baby is sick is the passage of antibodies from mother to baby. The close contact between mother and baby also strengthens emotional bonds and improves immune system function.

Use a DiGize roller between shoulder blades often. (I like to put 5ml olive oil and 5 drops of DiGize in a roller bottle). DiGize is an essential oil blend by Young Living comprised of Tarragon, Ginger, Peppermint, Juniper, Fennel, Lemongrass, Anise, and Patchouli. This amazing blends soothes when baby is experience respiratory discomfort. Remember, I am not giving medical advice. I’m just sharing what works for our family when we see the first symptoms of colds.
-

Aromatherapy is always a go-to in our home. In baby’s room, we like the Feather The Owl diffuser + Seedlings Calm from Young Living. There’s nothing like creating a cozy and welcoming environment for baby any time of year.
- Prayer and Speaking Life. This is always in the mix in our home. Babies are brilliantly perceptive by God’s design. When they hear us praying and speaking words of soothing and encouragement, they feel safer and more secure. Keep your own distress over the situation in check by praying for God to help you with anxiety and stress.
Praying for you and your babe as you get through this together.
You can do hard things!
